In the " Lincolin County Wars Book " is mentioned several times for Joshua Gordon Scurlock who was a gunslinger among other things. He was also known as Doc. He had studied medicine in New Orleans,La. He left for New Mexico and Az because he thought he had contracted TB. Sometime after he arriived in NM, he was shot in the face but lived. He lived and worked on the Chisum Ranch. Joshua Scurlock recived land lottery in 1827. By 1820 most of the Scurlock lines was in Baldwin Co.Ga. He also owned a cheese factory, in Az, with Mr Bowdre, this was after he stole a horse and left the Chisum Ranch. Get the book, its great !!
