This is my Chinese side and very proud of it !!!!!
I would like to thank Sharon Foe,Dave Clement,,Dale McMahan for finding me and adding more information to my Foe /Poe family. [ see bottom of page for more Poe information ]
It was a very big suprise to find I had Chinese in my family, James Foe was my Great Great Grandfather.

I'm not sure what James Foe's name was when he arrived in the US abt 1851 but by the time we located him he was in Pope Co.IL living next door to a Foe family from England so we belive he took an American name and dropped the Chinese name, on his 2nd marrige record he stated his father was Non Gong but even that could be wrong because it may have been translated from something the recorder heard rather than what he said. I can only go by what Marriage,Census,Death records tell's me untill I get more information. ^&^
James Foe was born abt. 1839 in China and died either in Massac Co.IL or McCracken co.Ky but both are just guess's on my part, there is a James Foe buried in Massac Co. IL that surely has to be his son, but just not positive... He married 1858 New Liberty, Pope Co. IL [ not proven ]1st to a Lue/Lee/Isabella/ Jones/James [ marriage records has both names or was hard to read ] as per marriage records of children but even there again we aren't sure as some of the children has different names for the mother on marriage records. He did give up his Citizenship to China for the USA in 1872. There was only one marriage record found for James but very little information on it.
James Foe , married 2nd 16 July 1885 to Eliza Jane Poe born abt. 1862 Massac Co. IL. died unknown, daughter of John William and Elizabeth DeJernette/ DeJournette/ Jarnette Poe. after James' death , Eliza married Hugh Peeler and moved to Ky. No know children from that marriage.
