Archdeacon, Codie, Gody, McCody, etc. [ not sure how Cody came out of Archdeacon ]
I will begin with what I think, I Do Not believe this line of Cody's are from Buffalo Bill Cody's line.
In 1880 on the census for Chattahoochee Co. Ga. Dist. 10, I found :>>
Benjamin Cody with wife Maddie, son Emett aged 2 born Ga, daughter Mattie/ Maddie aged 3/12 born Ga. I have found Benjamin F. Cody married to Ella unknown in 1870, so am thinking Emmett is by second wife Mattie.
