Thank you for your hard work. I am the great grandson of Matthew J.J. Cagle, grandson of Rebecca Cagle Forney Barnes, and son of Victor E. Barnes. Not exactly sure how we are related. I am wondering what you have found for sure regarding Matthew J. J.'s parents.
I live in western Missouri (Wellington) and can be reached through my email or at 816.878.3681. This is pretty exciting! Christopher

Hello, I am trying to find more information on the Simms (Sims) family in Arkansas. My great-grandmother was Mattie Jane Simms (b. 1885 d. 1957). We have no idea her parents names. Family says she had a brother named Albert. Mattie Jane Simms married David Jackson Earnest (Jack Earnest on the marriage license) on Dec 17, 1902 in Hill, Calhoun County, Arkansas. David Died in 1914 (struck by lightening). They had William Rufus, twins Roy and Loy, Virgie, Myrtle, Beulah (my grandmother), and David Jackson Jr, she was pregnant with David Jackson Jr when her husband died. On January 15, 1916 she remarried to Henry Hopper (J.H. Hopper on marriage license) . States they were living in Tinsman, Calhoun County, Ark. They had Enoch Joe, Edgar S, Henry Elmos, and Alfred. Family word had always said that Mattie's mother was full-blooded Native American Indian. Some believe Cherokee. My cousin found her death certificate and it does not list her parents. She did however discover that Mattie was in the Arkansas State Hospital when she died. Family had told me before that she had suffered from what is now referred to as Alzhiemers Disease. She is buried in Earnest Cemetary in Calhoun County Arkansas. If anyone has any information on Mattie Jane Simms (Sims) please email me.

Hello! My grandmother, Mary Francis Sims Hitchcock, lived in Trussville, Alabama. I have pictures of her father, William Sims, if anyone is interested. And I would love to hear from other Sims' in the area. And I would love to get some information on Thomas Sims who died in South Carolina. I heard a family legend that he was killed when a tree fell on him. They say he was a horrible man that no one liked. I love this kind of information! :-) Hope to hear from someone soon!
